I love Barbara Thiede's column in the paper if that counts...she is not a Concord native, but has lived here a long time...she LOVES this city and writes often about her love for the people here.
2. We love Afton Tavern near Afton Village on George Liles Blvd., casual, burgers, fish, amercian cuisine
3. Walk the Greenway that is found behind the Union Street Stores...you can make a short or a long loop depending on which way you go--always lots of people around. Then, stop at the creamery --see above comment:)
4. a. Despite being a small town, we have lots of wonderful and diverse restaurants in just a small area near my house (greek, asian, mexican, sports bar, etc.) b. I live about 2 miles as the crow flies from the speedway, and you can hear the activity on the race track at all times of the day--practicing, racing, etc. and the track brings lots of people to town c. It is the home of one of my favorite bands who have performed on the Grammy's and have concerts all over the country (The Avett Brothers).Carlanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4460774047984761054.post-50832896084089072652012-03-18T19:37:51.299-05:002012-03-18T19:37:51.299-05:00Thanks, Bethany. Little towns like this always fascinate me, so I look forward to exploring some!

Thanks for helping us out - hope we'll see you when we get there!Tracy Ruckmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15052951798947073110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4460774047984761054.post-42276273065534309232012-03-18T15:07:37.519-05:002012-03-18T15:07:37.519-05:001. BEST hand-scooped ice cream ever.
3. Concord Mills Mall. If your hubbies are along, send them a few mile or 2 down the road to the Charlotte (Concord!) Motor Speedway - NASCAR.
4. Concord sprawls all over the place with developments and such, but the downtown area is rather small and quaint - worth looking at as you drive to the Creamery :-). Concord's Christmas parade is always the Saturday before Thanksgiving and it's usually quite warm.
My house is less than a mile from the center of the city.Bethany LaShellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11790803944431508495noreply@blogger.com
