Invitation for Writers

We're inviting writers to participate in our next collaborative novel, the sequel to The Love Boat Bachelor. This new book will release on Kindle June 15, then in December, we'll release all three stories - A Dozen Apologies, The Love Boat Bachelor, and the new book in one print volume in both print and digital formats.

As we did with A Dozen Apologies, we're offering the opportunity for writers to submit chapters for the novella, based on the story synopsis and first chapter that we'll provide by e-mail upon request.

To be considered, you'll write two chapters of 2,500 to 3,500 words each in the specified character's third-person, deep POV. This story will be much like The Love Boat Bachelor and its predecessor, A Dozen Apologies in that the readers will get to vote for the hero they think will be the best man for our heroine. There will be nine or ten authors writing heroine chapters, along with a first chapter written by the creator of the heroine and the final chapter written by the author who creates the winning hero.

There are eight WIP authors writing chapters. We will select one - and maybe two - contestants to participate in the final project. The winning contestant(s) will be offered the same contract as the other participating authors.

The deadline to submit chapters is April 15, 2015.

If you wish to enter, please send an e-mail with the subject line SEQUEL INFORMATION, and we'll send you the information by March 1. [UPDATED: Information packets will be sent out March 3.] Send your e-mail to editor[at]writeintegrity[dot]com.

And the 2012 Books of Hope Winners Are ...

This week, we've tested the patience of many writers - not on purpose, but out of necessity - as we've tallied the scores from the 2012 Books of Hope finalists.

The 2012 Books of Hope Nonfiction category had few entries, so we named only two finalists back in the fall. One of those entries was disqualified when we learned the submitted book had previously been published. So we declared the other nonfiction finalist a winner by default - but it is indeed well-deserved! The winner receives a cash prize of $500 and a contract for publication of her winning series. We're keeping her busy - she's contracted to write several series for us, so keep an eye out for all her latest releases!

Congratulations to:

2012 Books of Hope Nonfiction Winner
Dianne E. Butts
Days of Hope Series

First Peter 3:15 instructs us to, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Who was Peter talking to? What hope was he referring to that they have?

Paul told the Sanhedrin, “I stand on trial because of my hope in the resurrection of the dead.” Why would he be on trial for hope?

In Romans 5:2 Paul said, “We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.” What did he mean by that? What did he mean when he said “suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:4)?

Paul claimed “hope does not disappoint us” (Romans 5:5). Today many people feel disappointed and hopeless. They need hope. But what kind of hope is the Bible talking about? Where do we find it? How do we get it?

The Days of Hope series will explore what the Bible has to say about “hope.”

Book 1: 50 Days of Hope from the New Testament

In challenging times, where can we find hope that lasts? Does it exist? If it does, how can we get it?
Explore 50 occurrences of the word “hope” in the New Testament and discover what followers of Jesus Christ have to say about hope. Why was Paul on trial because of his “hope in the resurrection of the dead”? Why did Peter instruct us to “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have”?
Discover what they learned about hope, and let hope fill your days.

Marie Coutu
The Mended Vessels Series

Stories of Finding Significance after Brokenness

The three novels in this series, loosely based on Biblical women, reveal how God takes broken lives and restores them to usefulness. The stories of Queen Esther, the Samaritan woman at the well, and Bathsheba—re-imagined in contemporary terms—demonstrate how the principles of God’s love still apply today. Each is a stand-alone story but the three books are connected by their themes of restoration, forgiveness, and hope through stories of women who find significance in spite of their pasts.

We'll share more about Marie's books very soon - the first in the series will release in June!

Hope for the Hopeless - Call for Submissions

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

During the holidays, I had an unusual experience that changed me. Normally, I'm a homebody, but during December, I was out with the masses, meeting and greeting people face-to-face, hours at a time. Looking into all of those precious faces, I noticed something alarming - too many of the faces looking back at me seemed to have no hope. In hundreds of eyes, I saw pain, sorrow, tears, shame - hopelessness.

Admittedly, 2011 was a hard year for many of us, myself included. But even in the midst of all the trials, I never lost my Hope, because I know Who my Hope really is, and the true source of that deep abiding ever-flowing Hope.

I know I'm not the only one who knows that Hope, and I want to do something about it.

Write Integrity Press and Pix-N-Pens Publishing are seeking submissions for an entire line of books with a common theme - HOPE. If you have a book manuscript completed, or almost ready, that offers HOPE to a hopeless world, we want to hear from you. Fiction and nonfiction are welcome and encouraged - we're hoping to offer a good variety because we realize that not everyone can be reached in the same way.

It's time to let our lights shine. We should "Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have" (1 Peter 3:15 NCV). Come, let us help you share your own message of hope to this hopeless world. Your words may make all the difference to someone.

Please follow our regular guidelines to submit your manuscript. Be sure to put HOPE for the Hopeless: Submission in the Subject line to route you in the right direction.
